The wire/mesh sizes is very crucial for making the mesh basket, it determines your basket is appropriate or not and it is suitable for using or not. However, the average thickness of a steel wire mesh for mesh basket typically ranges between 0.121” thick and 0.25” thick. For smaller parts, this is thick enough to support the weight of the held parts without significantly reducing wash performance.
Wire mesh size designation: wire mesh is designated by "Mesh Number" (number of wires per inch) and "Wire Diameter" (the diameter of each wire). A higher "mesh number" means more wires to the inch, a higher "wire diameter" means a thicker wire. The "Opening Size" listed is the approximate size of the square openings between the wires.
Wire mesh selection for your application: Select a mesh for your mesh basket with an opening size smaller than your smallest parts (so your parts don't fall through), but large enough to allow good flow and drainage. Generally speaking, mesh with a larger wire diameter is more durable than smaller wire diameters. But it has the different situation which is changed as the order. We have only a few common mesh sizes listed, but there are an unlimited selection of mesh sizes and wire diameters available. If your application requires something special, please contact WUZHOU KINGDA, we can produce as your demand.
So, establishing exactly what size of wire mesh is the best for your particular mesh basket application is impossible without some detailed information. Also, as wires get thicker, the spacing between them is usually increased to avoid reducing wash performance.
