3. You can install a whole house water filter to cover your whole house, or install an under sink water filter if you're in an apartment or on a tight budget.

4. Some people wrongly believe that boiling water will somehow help remove lead.  While boiling water kills bacteria and parasites, it will not help with lead. 

5. With the detrimental health effects of lead, especially in pregnant women and young kids, consider an effective, long term solution. Either upgrading pipes or installing a whole home water filter.
