Instructions

Turn the new sink upside down. If you are installing a new sink basket onto an existing sink, go underneath the sink and look at it from the bottom.

Place a ring of plumber's putty around the lip of the underside of the sinks' hole. Press it through the hole with your fingers.

Hold the new basket with your fingers through the holes and place it into the top of the sink hole. Press it into the hole to attach it more firmly to the plumber's putty.

Slide the gasket and washer onto the threads until they lay firmly into the putty. These threads will now be sticking through the hole on the underside of the sink.

Place a small amount of pipe-joint compound onto the threads of the new sink basket.

Work the locknut up the threads of the new basket by hand. Tighten it the rest of the way with an adjustable wrench.

Attach the new strainer to the sink-drain tailpiece with the gasket. Turn the gasket to tighten it by hand while holding onto the basket at the same time.
