In general, stainless filter cartridges are designed to overcome the high temperature and chemical compatibility limitations of fabric or synthetic fiber media. This will offer very high temperature resistance & can withstand high differential pressure. And stainless steel cartridges are extensively used in industry, pharmaceuticals, fluidized beds, oil and gas filtration, liquid and gas filtration, chemical processing, food and beverage, chemical fiber filtration, polyester and water treatment industries. Stainless steel cartridges are offered in SS 304, SS 316, & SS 316 L materials. Stainless steel cartridges are made from multi-layers sintered wire mesh, usually 5-layer stainless steel wire mesh.

These filter elements can be plain cylindrical or in pleated configuration to increase filtration area. Normally all stainless steel pleated & cylindrical filters are supported with coarser filter media to ensure no direct damages to main filtering media under process upsets. And it has more strong structure, fine permeability and accurate filter precision, corrosion resistance, and easy back wash cleaning features. A bubble point test can be done to certify that no opening larger than the specified pore size exist in product joints or seams. No media migration occurs due to stainless steel material. These elements can be back washed & reused.
